Microva Modbus RTU modules are factory configured as Modbus server (slave) devices and do not require programming or even connecting to a computer for device installation. They are designed to be mounted side-by-side and connected over a ribbon cable as shown below. Use the MB102 module to connect several modules to the Modbus RTU network. The individual module node number, data format and baud rate can be configured using the PGM switch on the PCB by counting the number of blinks of the green LED. See the device data sheet for the flow chart. Those settings can also be changed over the Modbus network using the free Microva BASIC compiler software which includes a simple Modbus network interface for reading or writing to any Modbus RTU devices on the network- whether they are made by Microva or other manufacturers. Microva Modbus RTU devices can also be programmed to be stand alone Modbus client (master) controllers using the Microva BASIC programming software.
